Running one agent is easy. Operating a fleet is the hard part.
OpenHermit is an open-source platform for deploying fleets of AI agents as services, aimed at teams that need shared operations rather than scattered local state.
It helps you run and manage multiple agents by keeping their internal state in PostgreSQL while giving each agent a separate sandboxed workspace.
Key features:
• Gateway control plane – start, attach, and detach agents from a single server with an admin UI
• Postgres-backed state – store sessions, memories, instructions, skills, MCP servers, schedules, and secrets scoped by agent
• Sandboxed execution – run each agent in Docker, E2B, or Daytona rather than on the gateway itself
• Channel adapters – connect agents through Telegram, Discord, Slack, CLI, or a web UI
• Fleet-wide controls – enable skills and MCP servers per agent or across the fleet, with scheduled jobs available
It’s open-source (MIT license).

OpenHermit: Managing Fleets of AI Agents as Production Services

Running a single AI agent is one challenge. Managing multiple agents with persistent state, isolated workspaces, and shared operational controls introduces additional infrastructure requirements.

OpenHermit is an open-source platform designed to deploy and operate fleets of AI agents as production services.

It separates an agent's internal state from its external workspace, allowing teams to manage multiple agents through a centralized gateway and PostgreSQL-backed storage.

Key Features

• Gateway control plane: Manage agent lifecycle operations, including starting, attaching, and detaching agents, through a central server and admin UI.

• PostgreSQL-backed state: Store sessions, memories, instructions, skills, MCP server configurations, schedules, and agent-related data.

• Sandboxed execution: Support per-agent workspaces through Docker and cloud sandbox backends such as E2B and Daytona.

• Channel integrations: Connect agents through Telegram, Discord, Slack, CLI, and web interfaces.

• Fleet-wide management: Enable skills and MCP servers for individual agents or across multiple agents, along with scheduled automation.

OpenHermit is open-source and licensed under MIT.
