Skipping the Second Generation Step: Jev for Agent Evaluation

We use LLMs to write answers, then call another LLM to judge them. But when the judgment is a handful of bounded decisions, do we need another round of text generation?
Jev offers a fast and cheaper path: give it the state, ask predefined questions, and receive typed values directly.
That makes agent evaluation one of its most interesting use cases.
We are in to just week one of Jev release... as more results and Benchmarks become available, it will become clearer how much workload it can potentially pick up from your eval harness.

Traditional LLM-based agent evaluation typically involves generating an answer with one LLM and then using a second LLM to judge it, which requires an additional round of text generation. Jev offers an alternative approach for cases where the judgment involves a small number of bounded decisions: rather than generating text, it takes the current state, asks predefined questions, and returns typed values directly, which is faster and cheaper than a full generative judging pass. This makes agent evaluation a potentially strong use case for the model, though with the release still in its first week, more results and benchmark data are needed before it's clear how much of a typical evaluation workload it could realistically take on.
