Your brand reputation is no longer shaped only by what appears in the news or on social media.
It’s also shaped by how generative AI describes your organization.
As more people turn to AI for information and recommendations, PR and Communications leaders need to understand a new part of the conversation:
How is our brand being positioned by LLMs?
What narratives are emerging?
And where might the answers be incomplete or inaccurate?
For me, this is what makes Meltwater’s GenAI Lens so timely. It helps teams see how their brands appear in generative AI conversations, adding an important perspective to the media and social signals they already follow.
The way people search is changing. Our approach to reputation intelligence needs to evolve with it.

How is your team thinking about brand reputation in the age of generative AI?

This one is different from the usual pattern here — it's a soft opinion/thought-leadership post with almost no specific, checkable numbers in it, so there's less to verify and less risk of getting caught out.

Meltwater's GenAI Lens is real. It launched July 29, 2025, described in Meltwater's own materials as an industry-first tool giving companies visibility into how their brand, competitors and industry are discussed across major AI assistants and LLMs including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, and Deepseek.

"Adding an important perspective to the media and social signals they already follow" — accurate to how Meltwater positions it. The product is explicitly built to sit alongside Meltwater's existing media/social monitoring rather than replace it, offering a 360-degree view of brand representation alongside news and social data.

"Where might the answers be incomplete or inaccurate" — matches the product's actual stated function. Independent reviews confirm it's built to spot inaccuracies or negative narratives early and surface which sources the LLMs are citing.

What the post doesn't say, but could have used for more grounding: the premise is backed by real research the post doesn't cite — Gartner's forecast that by 2026, around 30% of brand perception will be shaped by generative AI content rather than traditional media, and Meltwater's own cited figure that 62% of consumers use AI tools for brand discovery. Adding one of these would turn "this feels timely" into a sourced claim.

One limitation worth knowing if you or your team evaluates this category of tool generally: LLM outputs aren't deterministic and vary by session, personalization, and grounding — so "how LLMs describe your brand" is inherently a sample/approximation, not a fixed truth, and refresh cycles on these tools tend to run in the 24-48 hour range rather than real-time. Not a flaw in the post, just useful context for evaluating any GEO/AI-visibility tool, including this one.

Nothing in the post is inaccurate — it's just light on specifics, which also means there's nothing to correct.
